The Solar Dynamics Observatory has been launched

February 11 launch
Science operations will start in April 2010

This is an 800 million dollar mission
Full time downlink to two dedicated 16 meter dishes in New Mexico
150 Mbps downlink speed

1 arcsecond resolution, full disk doppler velocity every 50 seconds
1 arcsecond resolution, full disk vector magnetic images every 90 seconds

Atmospheric Imaging Assembly, Lockheed Martin Solar Astrophysics Laboratory
1 arcsecond resolution images with multiple filters, every 10 seconds or better

Extreme Ultraviolet Variability Experiment, University of Colorado
Several extreme ultraviolet spectrographs recording spectra every 20 seconds
